Netflix is constantly adding new original content to its platform to retain existing subscribers while
also gaining new subscribers. One of the series to be added to Netflix is The Spy, starring Sacha Baron Cohen.
Netflix is now one of the most popular online subscription streaming platforms in the world, where series, movies and documentaries are streamed, perhaps even at the top. However, Disney is preparing to enter the market with the Disney+ service; Apple is also preparing to enter the market with the Apple TV+ service. So it's hardly wrong to say that Netflix's seat is on the swing.
Netflix is aware of this and is making moves that will both keep its subscribers and attract new subscribers before the competition escalates. One of those moves is to make Netflix original content. This is one of the series will begin airing in the coming days.
The Spy
A promotional trailer for Netflix's miniseries The Spy, which will air on September 6, has been released. The series is starring Sacha Baron Cohen, who has previously appeared in productions such as Les Miserables and Hugo, and won the Best Actor award for comedy for his film Borat at the Golden Globa in 2007.
The creator of the series is Gideon Raff, one of the authors of Homeland, a highly popular series in the United States. Raff had previously competed at the Emmy and BAFTA a total of 5 times with Homeland, and managed to reach the award at the Emmy held in 2012.
Subject of the series
Sacha Baron Cohen plays Eli Cohen, who clerked in the Israeli government in the 1960s but spied by entering Syria on behalf of the Mossad, the Israeli intelligence service, under a second identity. Although Cohen loves his country very much, this double life he lives is beginning to jeopardize his own sanity. The series, which will be released on Netflix next month, was inspired by the life of Eli Cohen, a true Mossad agent.
